The first round of qualifying is in the books and Senior, Jonnie Motomochi, has taken the lead with an opening round of even par. With greens running between 12-13 on the stimp meter and very tough hole locations with the clubs’ Club Championship happening this weekend, the adjusted Trysting Tree layout of a par 66 played very difficult. Freshman Scott Kim posted the next best round at +1 with Juniors Nick Sherwood (+2), Nick Chianello (+3), and Senior Alex Moore (+4) rounding out the top 5.
With the grind and competition of qualifying over the team spent a few hours this afternoon having fun playing paintball.
Coach Reehoorn was definitely the worst player on the course, but Jeff Petroff took the worst beating. During one of the games Jeff took quite a beating, but he managed took keep a great attitude even though a few others were ganging up on him.
The team will continue their pre-season with a trip to Bend, Ore., for the next four days spent playing golf at Tetherow Golf Club and staying at Sunriver resort. Round 2 of qualifying will commence Tuesday afternoon.
