Travis Milleman: Daily Blog from Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Sunday, April 3

This morning, I woke up to the sun peeking through the curtains of the hotel room. I thought to myself, we’re not in Oregon anymore. Shortly after waking up, Alex and I went on a short jog followed by a dip in the pool. It is definitely different jumping into a pool of water that isn’t freezing cold, and it was a great way to start the day. After eating some breakfast, we all packed up and headed out to Talking Stick to see the course for the first time. Since this is my first tournament as a part of the starting five, it was really cool to get to the course and finally be able to say to myself that I represent Oregon State Golf. The weather here in Scottsdale couldn’t have been any better today, it was sunny, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and it was at the perfect temperature of 85 degrees. Six hours later, we walked off the course knowing that we can go low tomorrow. Another lesson learned out there today is to wear sunscreen, just ask the back of my neck! From the golf course we travelled across town to Tee Pee Mexican Restaurant where we ate some delicious fajitas and burritos. Once back at the hotel, we had a team meeting to discuss strategy for the physically and emotionally demanding 36 holes we have ahead of ourselves tomorrow. All in all, it was a very fun day here in Arizona and we are all pumped to go out there and play some golf tomorrow. It will be a chance to prove not only to ourselves, but to everyone else out there that we are the best in the field. This is Travis Milleman signing off until tomorrow.
