Today we were once again paired with Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Washington. It was great being paired with these teams the past two days at Eugene Country Club as they accounted for three of the eight teams that made it to the match play portion of the NCAA Championship last year. Playing with these teams for three rounds was a great experience for our players, and it showed our guys that we can play and compete with top tier programs. There are just a few small mistakes that we continue to make that keeps us from elevating our performances.
We weren’t able to get much going on the course today and were fortunate to hold on to fourth place for the event, thanks in large part to Alex Moore’s solid tournament. You can view the final results from the Duck Invitational here. Alex was tied for the lead through 16 holes with Washington’s Chris Williams. Alex Finished with two solid pars, but it wasn’t enough to beat Williams, who finished with two birdies. Although Alex wasn’t able to get the victory, he gained valuable experiences as he was able to compete for the individual title with some great players in a high pressure situation. Alex has played some great golf this year, and we look forward to the progress that he will continue to make in his game. You can read more about Alex Moore’s record setting 63 in his own words here. Next up for the Beavers will be the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, AZ on April 4-5.
