The tournament began with an 8:00am shotgun start. We saw great scoring conditions during the first round as the wind was fairly calm and the sun was out shining above us. The guys really relished the good weather because the last time we were here in January we saw constant rain and howling winds that never let up. Unfortunately we weren’t able to take full advantage of the good scoring conditions during the first round as we posted a 4 over-par team score which put us in 5th place. Nick Sherwood lead the team with his solid 2 under-par 70.
The second round saw a turn in the weather as the wind picked up and blew at at a constant 20mph, with gusts up to 30mph. Alex Moore played a great round of 1 under-par 71, which was one of only five under-par rounds recorded in the second round. David Fink also played a great round, posting an even-par 72 that helped our team post an 8 over-par 296.
Through 2 rounds we are tied for 4th place with the final round remaining tomorrow. Jonnie Motomochi will lead us off at 8:36am and we will be looking to play our games and make a move up the leaderboard. Below are a few clips from the today’s action.
